The Sartoflow Beta filtration system (B. Braun Biotech International), with data logging, consists of a Sartocon 3 or Sartocon 2 Plus filter holder, a stainless steel mobile-mounted unit with an integrated rotary piston pump, and a frequency control in a switch cabinet. Both filter holders can hold up to ten filter cassettes and are suitable for liquid volumes up to a batch size of 1000 liters. The digital recorder with LC-display allows a comfortable testing of flow, feed pressure, outlet pressure, and permeate pressure. This cross-flow filtration system is well suited for conducting series of scaling up and scaling down tests. The results can then be transferred to larger production systems.
